White Star Widows Fund
Currently the United States is facing a tragic epidemic of losing 22 Veterans and approximately 1 Active Duty Service Member to suicide every single day. More often than not the family members left behind are left without any life insurance or payouts from the Department of the Veterans Affairs or Department of the Defense, creating a sudden loss of income. When this happens HH6 will award an automatic payment to applicants based on available funds. As donations are constantly changing for this fund please contact us immediately and directly.
Life After Caregiving
There are certain situations where are caregivers cannot safely remain in the home with their injured Veteran due to child abuse, physical abuse or emotional abuse. Often the Caregiver has no source of income as he/she has been providing care to the Veteran and is unemployed. The Life after Caregiving program will assist with finding resources in the Caregivers area to assist with re-location and financial planning along with offering emergency shelter or travel payments. Copy of a police report is required within 15 days of issuance of funds.
The HH6 Closet
The HH6 closet connects Caregivers and Children in need of clothing with other veteran families who are able to donate new or gently used clothing in similar sizes for both the Caregiver and Child. In most cases these items are provided by one of our partners (Gorgo’s Boxes). In rare cases where no other families can meet the needs of the request, HH6 will purchase new or gently used items to meet the need.
Copy of DD214, Coroner report, VA award, Caregiver Stipend, Income statements and Bank Account Balances must be submitted for certain programs.
